We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our collaborative maternity practice. We’re searching for an individual who is thoughtful and passionate about delivering patient-centric care and is excited to join a dynamic and innovative team.
In addition to helping shape Oula's patient’s overall clinical experience, you will also be responsible for routine clinical and administrative tasks that help ensure the clinics run smoothly and that patients are roomed in a timely manner. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual that is excited to help execute a new best-in-class maternity care experience.
This is a full time position and is based in Downtown Manhattan. This is a benefits-eligible position and the compensation is $26/hour.
We are also seeking a per-diem Medical Assistant for the team; please specify in your application for which role you are applying.
About Oula:
Oula is redesigning maternity care from the ground up. Our modern maternity centers combine the best of obstetrics and midwifery care to deliver a more evidence-based and personalized pregnancy experience. From our collaborative medical team, welcoming clinic, and remote care platform, we are setting a new standard for pregnancy that unifies modern medicine and human intuition. Our first tech-enabled, collaborative care clinic opened in Brooklyn in 2021, with a second clinic in downtown Manhattan as of the Fall of 2022.
Key Responsibilities:
-Rooming patients, as well as turnover and maintenance
-Organizing schedules and huddles to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner
-Helping maintain a clean, courteous, and professional clinical environment -- including the changeover of rooms, removal of paper, etc.
-Assistance with scheduling (virtual and clinic) and review of next days schedule to prepare providers
-Coverage of front desk when needed
-Cross coverage between Oula clinics when needed
-Additional duties as assigned
You are the perfect candidate if you are:
-Passionate about improving maternity care through a combination of clinical care, technology, patient empowerment and education
-A strong listener and communicator with the ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences and respond to a wide variety of needs

-Organized as it relates to daily tasks and as well as an ability to work towards longer term goals and projects
-Flexible in your approach and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree (preferred) OR a High School Diploma/GED (required) and 3+ years relevant experience in the healthcare field
-Experience and comfort in phlebotomy (required)
-Knowledge of medical terminology
-Experience in pregnancy care preferred
-Flexible schedule; able to work from clinic opening until last patient leaves
-Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMRs
-Spanish proficiency considered a bonus
