This team of patient focused professionals is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to assist our providers in a variety of procedures.
COMPENSATION: $21.00 - $25.00 / Hour for Certified Medical Assistants
COMPENSATION:$19.00 / Hour for Non-Certified Medical Assistants, with room to grow!
SCHEDULE: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Full Time, 8 Hour Shifts)
(Shifts can start as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 6:00 PM)
ABOUT COMPANY:
In our fast-paced clinic, the Medical Assistant provides a full range of certified medical assistant duties and support. This includes a high level of technical and procedural assistance to the urology clinic.
As the medical assistant you will be supporting the patient, family, physicians, and fellow medical assistants, and all other positions involved in the clinic.
Essential Job Functions: As the Medical Assistant you will:
- Escorts patients to exam room, obtain patients’ histories and perform initial assessment of patients’ vital signs, provide injections and venipunctures, and responsible for all patient chart documentation in EHR program.
- Assist with procedures; provide routine, non-complex tests such as UA’s, PSA’s and PVR. Sterilize trays and prepare tray for procedures.
- Check temperature of refrigeration and freezer daily, maintain eye wash station, follow room cleaning schedule, and use proper sterilization procedures.
- Stock exam rooms.
- Pre-review of medical charts prior to appointments to ensure all required tests/records are available.
- Patient teaching (for example, self-catheterization and self-administered injection).
- Responsible for phone triage, takes accurate detailed messages, schedules appointments, when necessary, notifies patient of their lab and test results in a timely manner, and completes necessary paperwork.
- Responsible for completing all orders which could include surgeries, CT scans, MRI, etc. If there is a Surgery & Radiology Scheduler, forward the orders to the coordinator to schedule and check insurance.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient’s care.
- Responsible for all HIPAA related polices, including use and disclosure of protected health information only as authorized and necessary to carry out duties.
- Covers for other Medical Assistant functions as requested.
- Assists other clinics as directed by supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduated from an accredited medical assisting program, or higher level of training.
- Previous medical assisting experience in a Urology medical group setting preferred, but not required.
- BLS for Healthcare provider required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
