As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will have the chance to rotate between our Dispensary and Stores & Distribution teams, gaining valuable experience and expanding your pharmaceutical knowledge. Each site will provide unique insights and opportunities to collaborate with our fabulous teams.
We will support you in qualifying for your Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship, providing you with the necessary training and development opportunities and giving you an extra qualification!
The variety and diversity of working between the Dispensary and Stores & Distribution teams will allow you to gain a well-rounded understanding of the pharmacy workflow. You will also get to expand your expertise in Controlled Drugs and Clinical Trial dispensing.

As Senior Pharmacy Assistant you will be rotating between our Dispensary and Stores & Distribution teams.
- Whilst working in the Dispensary you will be undertaking a variety of tasks in the interests of supplying dispensed medication to our patients safely, effectively and in a timely manner. As well as the labelling and dispensing of standard inpatient and discharge prescriptions, you will also undertake further training in the supply of Controlled Drugs and Clinical Trial medications
- When on rotation in Stores & Distribution, your focus will be ensuring availability of medication at ward level and effectively maintaining the stocked medications, as well as the prompt processing of received deliveries
- In both roles, you will work closely with the Patient Services Senior Team to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure good stock management processes are upheld across both sub-departments.

- Growth mindset – willingness to develop and learn. Once you complete your qualification on the job, we will offer you a permanent post. This takes approximately 12 to 15 months.

- Flexibility – you will be required to work 2 shifted days (late duty) per month and work 1 weekend (Saturday or Sunday) every 5 weeks
