The Senior Manager, Marketing and Digital Media reports to the Director, Philanthropic Partnerships, and collaborates with colleagues across the agency to produce content and align work to reach strategic targets. The position is the agency’s digital media expert and oversees the Brand & Communications Manager in support of the agency’s fundraising, marketing, digital media, and communications goals.
The position partners with other Development and Engagement team members regularly, including the Engagement and Events Manager and Development Manager, working to create and execute visual communications for each of the agency’s internal and external audiences to support the agency’s objectives, brand, and mission. This leader will maintain consistency across all programs, platforms, and materials and will function as a lead brand ambassador.
This position supports Community Action Marin service and administrative areas and is a key leader in the work of increasing visibility and credibility across stakeholder groups.
In this role, this leader will uplift and embody the agency’s core values – Service, Unity, Relationship, Inclusivity – and the CAM 2.0 goals in all areas of work and engagement with team members and partners.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a digital media storyteller and content strategist to increase visibility and reflect the value of the agency’s work across a variety of media channels and with a variety of stakeholders.
- Provide oversight for internal communications efforts, including digital tools and templates to build brand culture from internal to outreach to the community.
- Manage all marketing and digital materials from kick-off through completion and analysis, ensuring the work is on schedule and budget.
- Create and implement an internal communications strategy, starting with empowering staff to represent the agency as ambassadors in the community
- Acting as an Agency Ambassador, following, sharing, and participating in discussions happening within external and internal social media, to actively grow the organization’s presence.
- Creation of cross-agency marketing collaboration tools (to be used by marketing + program to keep track of all program and marketing deliverables for annual programs)
- Developing consistent communications across external social media channels, boosting posts, and testing ads where appropriate.
- Detailed Quarterly Analytics of Marketing and digital media performance.
- Supporting overall communication strategy internally by sharing messaging with staff and deploying content via workspace, organization’s intranet, and creating and posting content to enplug, the agency’s internal “TV” for client viewing of events, news, programs, etc.
- Utilizing WordPress to ensure the agency website is up to date and functioning and executing weekly blogs, in conjunction with marketing consultant.
- Executing in a timely fashion all partner, client, and donor emails, as well as creating content for/executing monthly e-news and blogs for these audiences.
- Supporting agency events by keeping the website up to date with logistics and executing pre- and post-event communications.
- Creating all digital displays paid and grant text ads.
- Making sure that all digital content is created and implemented in a timely fashion, according to a quarterly schedule.
- Adhering to Agency Brand Guidelines across all communications channels.
- Keeping the agency’s photo, assets, and testimonial collection up to date.
- Direct the Brand & Communications Manager with the design of agency-wide and program-specific collateral and print; support work priorities and best outcomes.
- Support effective marketing and communications strategies with data from Raiser’s Edge and the agency’s Learning & Evaluation team.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, digital media, or communications roles.
- Experience in a leadership or managerial position, preferably in a nonprofit or philanthropic organization.
- Strong understanding of digital media channels and platforms, including social media, website management, email marketing, and analytics.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing digital media strategies to increase visibility and reach strategic targets.
- Skilled in digital content creation, storytelling, and content strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and adapt communication styles for different audiences.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint presentation design and other relevant marketing tools.
- Experience in overseeing marketing materials from conception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Ability to develop and execute multi-faceted marketing and communications programs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong project coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain consistency across programs, platforms, and materials.
