Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Under the supervision of the Director of Tourism, working closely with the Director of Marketing, the Digital Media Specialist supports the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau’s (BCVB) website and use of digital technology to help promote the organization and the City of Beaumont as a global destination for meetings, conventions, international travel and group travel. Compile and update content/imagery on www.visitBeaumontTX.com; deploy outbound e-mail communications for the organization and maintain an email production schedule; analyze results and make recommendations for future email schedules; work to maintain the website and support recent website redesign by updating images, maintaining a homepage content schedule, and auditing outdated pages to support analytics benchmarks and goals; work with various departments to update and refresh website content; support implementation of a web style guide across the organization and its various channels and departments; assist digital marketing efforts across all channels as needed; research web and digital communication trends, innovations and emergent interactive technologies to support recommendations on new features and applications relevant to the BCVB; assist with analyzing and organizing all digital assets through the organization’s Digital Asset Management system; pull web and analytics reporting to share with the Data Analyst for Marketing Web Analytics Dashboards; Perform some graphic design/video requests as needed; Input and regulate CRM database (updating listings for Restaurants, Attractions, and businesses); design and create print advertisements, billboards, and specialty promotional items; responsible for email mailouts for meeting sales and tourism projects; create sales and tourism handouts for trade shows; additional roles in the CRM database including events, weekly event roundups and promotional hotel packages; provide additional support in web design and creating new webpages; will host and run the Beaumont Destination Training Tour program and maintain well informed working knowledge of attractions and services available in the area; create new brochures updated with business changes and additions; maintain database to track inquiries; serves as backup to the Engagement Specialist with mailouts and servicing; assists Administration with answering phones and greeting visitors.

Working Conditions
Works in normal office environment and outside in all types of weather; must be available to work Monday through Friday and some weekends; schedule varies.
Minimum Essential Qualifications
Knowledge: Knowledge in office practices and procedures, equipment and software, including word processing, Microsoft Office, and other software applications; knowledge of photography and graphic design; knowledge of database management; must develop a complete working knowledge of Beaumont including all attractions and amenities; knowledge of all current social media platforms; knowledge of all aspects of CRM (Simpleview CRM); knowledge of digital marketing techniques, photography and video asset creation.
Skills/Abilities: Skilled in the use of personal computers, printers, software and other office equipment; telephone etiquette; must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational skills; detail oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment; experience managing deadlines and production schedule; excellent proof-reading skills; a collaborative spirit and ability to engage colleagues and leadership.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees and hears; frequently types, sits, stands, sorts, stores, twists body, writes by hand, operates PC, carries and lifts objects weighing up to 40 lbs.; infrequently operates a calculator, kneels, crawls, climbs.
Education/Experience: Associate degree preferred or a related field with two (2) years of progressive work experience, or graduation from high school or high school equivalency with a minimum three (3) years progressive experience in a fast-paced multi-task work environment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience; experience using website content management systems and email marketing systems, Adobe Creative Suite; experience with graphic design and editing software: Illustrator, Photoshop and/or InDesign; experience using search engine optimization and development of mobile-responsive content a plus; previous experience using Word Press preferred.

Must possess a valid Class C driver’s License with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver’s License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas State law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
