Job description

The Corporate Communication Department of AXA IM brings together roughly forty employees across the below departments:
1. Media relations
2. Internal communication
3. Corporate messaging
4. Brand and advertising
5. Web and Social Media

The role of the media relations team is to:
  • increase the visibility and reputation of AXA IM in the media (print and web)
  • support the company's strategy and its implementation, to reinforce the understanding of AXA IM's role and ambition to an external audience
  • position the company as a thought leader in its sector of activity on various topics (e.g. responsible investment, active long-term manager)
  • protect the brand and the reputation of the company, especially in times of crisis and handling of sensitive issues

The central media relations team is composed of 6 people divided between London and Paris: 3 people in London and 3 people in Paris.

The main responsibilities of the role:

To support the central media relations team and its strategy in the UK and globally, to coordinate the work between the different members of this team, as well as the tasks below:

Press documents:

  • Draft, edit and distribute press communications (press releases, media comments…)
  • Draft media briefing notes ahead of press events/interviews
  • Update media documents, including distribution lists and spokesperson biographies
  • Interviews: manage incoming requests from journalists and coordinate internal responses
  • Assisting in helping prepare the company's spokespeople for interviews with journalists e.g. compiling briefing notes and organising media training
  • Monitor follow-up enquiries e.g. quote checks, liaising with journalists and internal spokespeople
  • Lead the quarterly reporting projects of media team KPI achievements alongside an external agency

Support to the team:

  • Work in close collaboration with London and Paris-based teams, as well as communicating with other local markets on a global scale.
  • Contribute to ideas, content and solutions to help develop AXA IM’s visibility in the press worldwide
  • Liaise with the UK marketing department to publicise the company’s services and events in a coordinated manner

Events:

  • Organise different types of press events (virtual or physical ones) with company spokespersons such as conferences, round tables etc. (creation of invitations with the Design team, logistics, review of presentation materials, spokesperson brief).
  • Assisting with corporate photoshoots – liaising with photographer and employees, organising locations, room bookings and slots

Media coverage, monitoring and reporting, administrative:

  • Monitor and analyse media coverage
  • Circulate articles to spokespeople following their publication and to the team
  • Update reporting tools for media coverage, in collaboration with the media relations agency and the reporting provider
  • Ensure the coordination and follow-up of the awards received by AXA IM
  • Manage and track invoices
  • Utilise ERP software and office automation tools such as: Salesforce, Eloqua, Coda
Digital:
  • Liaise with the digital team to promote media communications
  • Participate actively in weekly team meetings
  • Update the website pages of media relations (global and UK) with all new publications (comments, press releases ...) and AXA IM’s internal social network(Workplace)
  • Proactively find new ways showcasing the team’s work internally

QUALIFICATIONS


Education qualifications
- Communications, marketing or financial studies preferred but not essential.

Knowledge and Skills
