Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking a full-time Digital Media Producer to work in APT’s Digital Media Department. The Digital Media Producer is an integral member of the APT team who is responsible for using digital tools to build meaningful relationships and connections with Alabama Public Television’s audience.
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for developing, producing, writing, and editing content for APT’s digital and social platforms- including creating docuseries and short-form digital videos, animations, motion graphics, social media posts and other content as assigned.
· Executes creative and unique multimedia campaigns across multiple digital and social channels to continually grow and improve the station’s digital engagement and growth of audience.
· Works with television producers and other content creators to reimagine and enhance their original content for a digital audience. Advises video content producers on best practices for audience engagement on social networks.
· Creates marketing and promotional content for APT’s website, social media, and other digital platforms. Ensures that marketing materials comply with all brand and style guidelines.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (qualifying experience above the minimum may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis) in Digital Media, Production, Design, Communications, Media Arts, or related field.
· Two (2) years of professional experience in the field working in digital video production, digital marketing, video production, or related media experience.
· Solid knowledge of Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro editing software.
Preferred Qualifications
· Demonstrated experience in producing, editing, and creating digital and social videos.
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; motion graphics; digital video platforms and other relevant technology skills.
· Demonstrated experience in developing online content and marketing strategies.
· Outstanding verbal communication and writing skills as it pertains to all internal and external communications.
· Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Familiarity with public television programming and mission.
