Mechanical Technician
Location: Aberdeen

We are currently recruiting for Mechanical Technicians
As a competent Mechanical Technician, your activities will include the following:
- Participate as part of an integrated maintenance team, responsible to execute planned, corrective, fault finding and repair activities on a range of offshore plant, equipment and associated systems in a safe, timely and quality manner to maximise plant & equipment availability, maintain asset integrity, and achieve business objectives
- Read and interpret complex installation P&ID’s, PFD’s and OEM manuals as part of routine maintenance and fault finding
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment of the installation personnel and surrounding environment
- Have the required competencies to assemble, install, carry out preventative maintenance, test, repair, diagnose faults and remove and replace, and dissemble rotating, static mechanical equipment and associated system components.
- Understand the relevant legislative, regulatory requirements or procedures and safe working practices, including their responsibilities with regards to reporting lines and procedures.
- Provide technical support to other disciplines, eg Electrical, Instruments, Engineering as required
- Raise quality permit requests within Permit To Work system within installation time constraints for effective scheduling
- Apply approved isolations to process plant and record on isolation registers within approved competency level for isolations
- Properly document and accurately report all maintenance, repairs, overhauls, adjustments and inspections carried out in Maximo history report
- Understand the preparation and reinstatement requirements in respect of the work area, materials and equipment, and the possible consequences of incorrect actions in these areas.
- Be able to read and interpret relevant engineering drawings, related specifications, quality standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions and relevant plans and schedules.
- Understand which tools and equipment to use, and when, and will follow relevant training, methods and techniques and quality control and safety procedures for their use.
- Understand their responsibilities for ensuring the care and security of tools and equipment used.
- Train and mentor apprentices/trainees
- Perform nominated task and role within installation station bill in assigned Emergency Response Team position
Experience & Qualifications
Offshore experience- Rotating Equipment; Compressors, Turbines, Fans, Pumps, etc
- Reciprocating Equipment; Diesel Engines,
- Static Equipment; Heat Exchangers, Valves, etc
- Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc)
- Formal Trade Qualification (Mechanical Technician)
- Min ONC/HNC
- TMJI10
- Emergency Response Training
- Permit to Work User/Performing Authority
- Maximo User
