Assala Energy is a young and dynamic Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company with an exciting operated asset base in Gabon, firm core values and a keen sense of responsibility to our employees and stakeholders.

We are now looking to enlarge our Gabon-based team with an experienced Mechanical Engineer for the role of Mechanical Supervisor. This is a site-based role offered on a 28/28 rotational basis.

Reporting to the Onshore Installation Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision, technical guidance and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance of site equipment. You will lead the day-to day maintenance activities and provide assurance on quality of work, timely delivery within budget, in support of achieving production objectives.

This position covers specialized mechanical works on gas motors, gas compressors, generators and injection/export pumps and it will be expected that you posses sound knowledge and practical experience on troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

You will perform highly diversified Mechanical Engineering & Supervision duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment and these will be in alignment and adherence to our key Operational Values and Spirit:

Requirements

  • Progressive experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an operational, field-based capacity;
  • Specific competences in gas motors, gas compressors and gas turbines maintenance in the extractive industry, manufacturing or related (Caterpillar Motor / Ariel reciprocating compressors / generators).
  • Additionally, you have had the opportunity to work in an international environment, ideally in West Africa and have a proven track record as a Maintenance Mechanical Lead on operational sites.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in both French and English are essential
  • Leadership skills and the ability to inspire others by example
