Role overview
Based at the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford, UK, the role gives an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their technical skills and develop personally within an internationally recognised company in the renewables and grid sectors. The successful candidate will be part of a cohort of interns working within a 12-month development plan that allows them to stretch outside of their core academic background that prepares them for successful careers.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical design of HVDC converters using CAD
Simulation and analysis of mechanical loading
Technical reviews of new technologies
Create design documentation such as specifications, reports and notes
Collaborate with other disciplines for product development and project delivery
The Person:
The successful candidate will ideally have completed 2 years of degree level study in a related field such as Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and be predicted to obtain at least a 2:1 at bachelor’s level; or equivalent knowledge or experience.
Needs to be eligible to work in the UK.
