International Design Consultancy based in Central London are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer who is looking to move into a Systems Engineer. This role will be part of the Product Innovation team and will represent the business as a technical professional and innovation consultant. The role benefits from a starting salary of up to £65,000, pension, healthcare and excellent career progression opportunities. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to all phases of the Product Innovation cycle.
- Driving product innovation processes for clients through a combination of unmet needs, product definition and systems level design.
- Contributing to technical research and concept development across healthcare / medical device programs.
- Leading systems-oriented design (defining & designing product architectures, functions and uses).
- Creating documentation to drive technical research, capture product requirements, system design visualisation and prototype test results.
To be considered for the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, you will require:
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Systems Engineer or Innovation Engineer.
- Experience of supporting user field research activities.
- A curiosity for technical research.
- Proven experience of exploring and concepting technical systems.
- Working knowledge of common technology systems and manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication, machined part design, etc.
- Experience in human centred design.
- Experience of designing for medical devices, healthcare or pharma.
