Mechanical Design Engineer
Mechanical Design / CAD Draughtsperson
Process equipment manufacturer – Burton Upon Trent
PAYE - £26.50 per hour + holiday pay / UMB - £35 per hour
6-month contract with possible extensions
This well-established process manufacturer is the market leader in its sector and following some significant project wins, they are going through a rapid growth phase. The design team are now starting to work on several new projects for their major clients, workload has increased and there is a real need to maintain the quality of product that it delivers. As a result, this company needs to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Draughtsperson to help with a conversion project immediately on a contract basis. The role of a Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Draughtsperson will involve:
- Mechanical detailing of P&IDs in 2D or 3D on AutoCAD
- All pre-engineering is done, solely responsible for producing 2D drawings
- Working from the preliminary P&IDs, the design engineer / CAD Draughtsperson will need to make changes to existing drawings from a previous project
- Produce Bills of Material in conjunction with the drawings
- Liaise with internal & external teams
The Mechanical Design Engineer / CAD Draughtsperson will need to have the following experience:
- Mechanical Design experience of Pipework within a process-based environment
- 2D detailing / draughting experience
- Capability to make modifications to P&IDs
- Creative ability and hardworking
