Duties

The tour of duty hours will be Sun-Thurs. 9:30pm – 6am. The hours are subject to change due to operational needs.

This position is emergency essential - Depending on the type of emergency the employee may be required to report to work during emergency situations

MAJOR DUTIES

Serves as an Elevator Mechanic (Electronics) Supervisor. Ensures that elevators and escalators are maintained, inspected and tested to ASME 17.1, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators.

Participates with the Branch Chief in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, staffing needs, estimates and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.

Plans use of subordinate workers' equipment, facilities and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by higher level management.

The incumbent is responsible for utilizing a thorough knowledge of and compliance with applicable AOC and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and to initiate or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas.

Provides leadership to ensure support for equal employment opportunity (EEO) goals and requirements. Assigns work to employees and provides technical direction and/or assistance in accomplishing the work. Observes work in progress, investigates work related problems (e.g., excessive costs, low productivity, workload imbalance, space rearrangement and acquisition or development of specialized tools, etc.) and determines causes. Implements corrective actions to resolve work problems.

Counsels employees on performance, sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordinates' work performance. Interviews candidates for vacancies and recommends employees for promotion or reassignments.

Performs administrative and technical supervisory functions for subordinates. Assigns duties and evaluates performance. Manages the organizational unit’s budget and workload.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
