Job description
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Midwife with an enthusiasm for triage, to complement our existing team of triage Midwives at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
You will work within an established maternity triage unit providing high quality, safe, evidence based, holistic care to women attending for unscheduled visits with urgent pregnancy related concerns (either while pregnant or in the immediate postnatal period). The Royal Wolverhampton Hospital has over 5000 births each year and currently sees on average 700 women each month in Maternity Triage.
Women can attend Maternity Triage via self-referral (phone-call to the department, discussion with midwife and advised to attend), referral from other departments within the hospital (Antenatal Clinic, Fetal Assessment Unit), referral from the community midwife or GP and referral from other hospitals.
We are currently implementing the Birmingham Symptom-Specific Obstetric Triage System (BSOTs) and therefore looking to enhance our triage team. You will be based in triage but there will be an expectation to occasionally rotate to delivery suite for the purpose of upskilling.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so that we can be the best that we can be. As an organisation we aim to recruit the finest and retain staff due to the employment opportunities available within the Trust.
