The Improvement and Transformation Programme Manager for maternity services is responsible for effective delivery of assigned projects within one or more East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) improvement and transformation programmes. The Improvement and Transformation Programme Manager will be required to play a major part in the coordination, development and implementation of complex service transformation that will improve the efficiency and quality of Trust services. Their role is pivotal to programme planning, project start-up and delivery; promoting an understanding of the EKHUFT Improvement and Transformation Programme; and championing the professional discipline of project management.

The primary purpose of this key role is to support the successful delivery of National programmes and regulators recommendations including the CNST Incentive Scheme annual 10 Safety Actions.

The Improvement and Transformation Programme Manager will be responsible for the full project life cycle following the agreed Trust methodology for the duration of time they are leading a project. They will be required to prioritise transformation programmes and delivery and will often be allocated to more than one project at a time.

The Improvement and Transformation Programme Manager will be responsible to the Director of Midwifery for the effective scoping, planning, communication and delivery of projects to time, budget and quality expectations, which includes the production and maintenance of all relevant plans, controls, management, and building the effective relationships and transition into operational service provision.

The role has exceptionally high level of demand for the highest-level communication skills. The Improvement and Transformation lead will be operating in situations where communications are highly complex, highly sensitive and/or highly contentious and where there is often a significant degree of hostility and antagonism towards the message which requires the use of the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills.
