Currently approx. 7000 babies are born within the maternity service provided by NWAFT. We are very privileged to offer our women at both Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough maternity units, co-located birth centres which include beautiful pool rooms to which to birth within. - Those appointed will be working closely with Midwives, Maternity Support Workers and the Multidisciplinary team supporting women during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
- The role varies from completing essential observations, supporting with infant feeding and supporting women in the ward environment, helping us to maintain high quality and efficient services.

- Support patients as they change from one place of care to another.
- Enable patients to become familiar with different care situation.
- Enable patients to transfer around the hospital.
- Escort patients to and from relevant departments including operating departments.
- Prepare the patient and environment for moving and lifting.
- Assist the patient to move from one position to another.
- Assist the patient to prevent and minimise adverse effects of pressure
- Collect and deliver specimens, results and other materials relating to the patient.
