The Opportunity
RHEON Labs prides itself on delivering world-class technology that redefines a wide range of product categories. Our challenge is to do that for a rapidly increasing number of markets and applications. This role is a critical support role for the Science Function and will be fundamental in supporting the development of new materials and conducting studies of chemical compounds, as well as using this research to create and improve our processes and products.
Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team in a research laboratory
- Developing new formulations
- Testing new materials
- Setting up test methods
- Recording and analysing data
- Presenting results to research staff
- Maintaining laboratory equipment
- Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments
Who We Are Looking For
- A degree in chemistry, material science or a related field, ideally with experience in the field of polymer science, is desirable
- Previous industrial experience is a plus
- The ability to combine theoretical skills with solid ‘hands-on’ capabilities
- Someone with an ambition to apply rigorous research skills and experience to the commercially oriented environment
Previous Experience that would be beneficial
- Knowledge of the fundamental science behind polymers and strain-rate sensitive materials
- Experience in polymer testing such as modulus, hardness, creep, tensile & hysteresis properties
- Skills of laboratory design, planning and building
- Work experience in commercial environments as well as academia
- A desire to transition into a fast-growing commercially focused business
