Teknek are looking for a Material Scheduler to work in our fast paced material procurement department.
This role is office based in our Manufacturing facility located behind Glasgow Airport. Our offices have easy access to the major transport routes including Glasgow, Paisley, Port Glasgow, Greenock, Ayrshire etc.
The Material Scheduler in Teknek manages the ordering and delivery of material flow through our established supply chain.

What you will be doing
- Co-ordinating and processing PO’s to ensure the flow of materials from suppliers through to production
- Liaise directly with our suppliers to meet the delivery dates required
- Co-ordinate with Customer Experience manager to communicate in advance any issues that could impact on our customer delivery expectations
- Build and maintain working relationship with the Production Supervisors to ensure accurate scheduling of time and resources
- Coordinate with Design and Engineering Team to source alternative materials when required
- Provide purchasing support in terms of quoting and cost analysis of products
- Develop deep relationships existing supply chains to include making them more sustainable
- Research and evaluate new suppliers.
Your Desirable Skills and Experience
- A natural passion to work in planning and purchasing
- Purchasing and planning experience in material based manufacturing environment
- Enjoys being organised and is passionate about Planning & Time Management
- Enjoys working on multiple tasks .
- Communicates and negotiates confidently with suppliers and colleagues
- Enjoys building working relationships by phone and in person
- Knowledge of operating KANBAN / Vendor Managed Inventory system
- Will challenge the status quo
- Good knowledge of MS Office and enjoys using Excel
- Excellent planning skills to meet the needs of supply and demand
