Discover Impactful Work:
To form part of a team which services the requirements of our customers. There are various departments within the operation, covering functions such as inbound receipts, stock control, outbound order processing and despatching. There may be a requirement for further training on specific roles within these departments, which will be provided. There is also a requirement to meet departmental procedures and safety standards.
A day in the Life:
Receive goods delivered and/or returned on the loading bay from suppliers and customers. Load and unload boxes, packages, cages and pallets from vehicles, using manual handling equipment.
Process items, check the quantity and quality of goods against the ASN/purchase order and prepare goods for warehouse storage and book items into the warehouse management system.
Locate and put away incoming goods in designated warehouse storage zones.
Pick and assemble customer orders from various warehouse locations using radio data terminals and picking lists. Prepare customer orders for delivery - package and label cartons/pallets/chemicals for safe and secure transportation.
Sort customer orders into designated outbound routes on the dispatch bay according to the assigned loading sequence and safely load vehicles - third-party carriers and own fleet - against the manifest loading sequence.
Keys to Success:
- Experience in warehouse forklift/picking/packing goods or dispatch
- Ability to readily understand written and verbal procedures and instructions in English
- Works cooperatively with the team and assists others to achieve departmental objectives and goals
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment in accordance with relevant training.
- Encourages others, shares ideas, seeks help and support when required, recognises the contribution of others and is flexible within the team
- Encourages a positive working environment and uses initiative and chips in to area improvements
- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team.
- Meets productivity, quality and safety targets and standards set by the department/company. Participates in job development and is receptive to change
- Gains and maintains skills through continuous development and training
- Align with health and safety guidelines and legislation
- Ability to operate optimally and safely within a warehouse environment where 100% of the role is physical
- Always required to be smartly presented and have a professional approach when dealing with customers and key partners. Workwear is provided and must be maintained to a good standard
- Have a flexible approach to working shift patterns, and support the requirement of additional hours when required is critical
- Follow standard operating procedures, training documents and safe working practices.
- Actively support and maintain a high standard of quality supporting the company quality system and operating with the customer in mind
- Achieve key performance Indicators for the area worked in.
