Job description
Secura Protection Group are looking for 1 to 2 additional Matchday Stewards to join us for the 2023-24 season.
Start date: c. Saturday 5 August 2023
Contract: Casual, Zero Hours
Pay rate: £10.42 - £11 per hour (DOE)
Location: Lancing, West Sussex
We’re looking for individuals who have excellent customer service skills who will provide our client's supporters with a safe and enjoyable matchday experience.
Experience in a similar role within spectator safety is highly desirable, however we will also accept applications and enquiries from motivated individuals looking for a new opportunity.
An NVQ or SIA certification is beneficial but not essential.
To be a Matchday Steward you must be 18 or over and will require a standard DBS check in line with FA regulations.
Requirements:
- Be aged 18 and over
- Previous customer service or spectator safety experience
- Be able to easily commute to Lancing, West Sussex
- Be willing to undergo a basic DBS check with The FA
- Have availability for regular Saturday afternoons
- Have availability for the occasional Tuesday evening
- Posses a smart, white shirt; plain, black trousers; and smart, black shoes
- Have availability even when Brighton and Hove Albion FC are playing (this is an essential requirement of the role)
Duties will include:
- Performing general crowd control
- Performing searches of spectators entering the turnstiles
- Performing escort duties for any special guests
- Performing escort duties for any matchday staff carrying cash
- Monitoring sensitive staff-only and team-only area to ensure strict access control
- Monitoring the crowd and reporting any concerns to the Supervisor
- Protecting the tunnel and hospitality areas, ensuring strict access control
- Assisting in any safeguarding-related tasks as-and-when
- Supporting the Steward Supervisor in any match-specific tasks
