The role you’ll contribute:
The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments under the supervision of the assigned physician in accordance with the physician’s orders, recognized hyperbaric oxygen therapy techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.
The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Technician is also responsible for following manufacturer’s recommendations and industry standards in the general upkeep of the hyperbaric chambers, including appropriate safety checks, cleaning, and ensuring the required preventive maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Safely operates the Hyperbaric Chamber per manufactures specification under physician direction.
- Cleans HBO chamber and treatment room using appropriate techniques.
- Maintains daily and periodic equipment maintenance documentation.
- Prepares patient for HBO treatments.
- Accurately completes appropriate documentation and monitoring.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High school diploma or general education degree
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant Certification or Emergency Medical Technician
- Must have successfully completed an approved Hyperbaric Oxygen 40 hour Course and certification or successfully complete the course and certification within 3 months of employment
