Job Title
Marketing & Social Media Developer
The role reports to the Managing Director or Duty Manager in his absence
Job Overview
To Develop the marketing strategy of Mews Auctions [and its subsidiaries where appropriate] to achieve the annual Sales Turnover as targeted by the Senior Management
Finding and creating innovative ways to achieve and maximise Mews Auctions public visibility within the Forest of Dean & eventually within a radius of 75 miles from Cinderford
Be a self-starter & bring to the Senior Management complete, detailed & costed proposals for Campaigns to achieve the Job Overview
Job Specific
Initially working [during the Probationary & Trial Periods] with the Team and then alone, find & develop new methods of attracting new business
After the initial learning Periods, be capable of working alone to achieve the specific goals of the Job, but always reporting to Senior Management on a regular basis to ensure the marketing direction complements the overall strategic aim of the business
Control & manage Mews Auctions advertising & marketing through existing [& new media as they emerge] such as Newsprint, Magazines, Local [& National] Radio, Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, WhatsApp, Messenger, etc
Insofar as possible, develop human contacts within the various media to maximise the benefits of the relation for the business
Assume responsibility for all Mailchimp communication with Customers, preparing the Campaign content & messages & disseminating the information
Create & maintain new Contact databases for existing & new Customers by way of their Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp & other social media addresses
Devise practices & systems which accurately record & up-date the PraecoCustomer Database to ensure the accurate record of contact details for Customers, especially their E-Mail addresses
Maintain, develop & expand the existing weekly/daily FB notifications of up-coming Lots, Sales Results & general information & extend the concept to Instagram, etc
Assist where the business demands, the Auction Team to process Lot Entries through the Praeco system to produce the weekly Sales Catalogue on time [by Wednesday evening] & randomly assist on a Sale Day [Friday] if an emergency demands
Develop the role of ‘Personal Shopper’ for those Customers who ask for such assistance. For example, some Buyers request instant notification that a certain type or genre of item is submitted for Entry. Thus, a new data record is to be established, which flags up relevant new Item arrivals & triggers notification to specific customers by their preferred contact method
After training, work from the Cinderford Showroom alone on Thursdays only, opening & closing the Premises to facilitate an additional Viewing Day for Customers [We presently close on Thursdays]. Thursdays will be available to Customers to view only, no transactions or Entries will be invited. Health & Safety - Lone Working Procedures will be in place
Days & Times of Work
During the initial Periods of Probation & Trial, the Hours of Work will be 09:00 – 17:30 with ½ hour Lunch Break, Monday through Thursday
There will be 25 days [pro-rata] paid holiday [including Bank Holidays] annually which must be taken during each working year & cannot be carried forward
Staff Welfare in the form of Tea & Coffee is provided throughout the day & a snack lunch is also provided, although the Employee may bring their own if preferred. Comfort & Coffee Breaks may be taken at will throughout the day
Because the role is an integral part of a small Team, flexibility with the Hours of Work is expected occasionally if required due to absence of another Team Member
Fridays are not expected to be worked unless there is a Team emergency, thus providing a 3-day weekend
The business closes on Saturdays & Sundays & for an extended period of around 3 weeks over Christmas & New Year
If agreed overtime is worked, it is paid at the agreed hourly rate & added to the Monthly Payroll. Salaries are paid via PAYE into the Employee’s nominated Bank Account, unless the Employee is a self-employed bona fide business which provides the Employee’s time, whereupon the Employee’s business will submit monthly Invoices to Mews Auctions in respect of the Hours worked. Such arrangement must be to the entire satisfaction of HMRC for Taxation purposes
Following the initial Periods & assuming each period is successful, the Employee may opt to make the Job a 5-day a week role with a commensurate increase in salary
