The role
This is a brand-new role within the company and will be pivotal towards the continued growth plan of Portland Training. The Marketing & Sales Assistant role is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to work in a marketing role within a company that is genuinely making a difference to people’s lives.
The role will act as an important gateway between the marketing and sales functions of the business. The Marketing & Sales Assistant will be work within the marketing department to help generate qualified leads, across a range of channels including, social media, email, paid media, website and more. They will also provide sales support in dealing with the inbound leads – providing a first point of call to all inbound leads and process these leads to pass them onto relevant departments.
This unique opportunity will be an exciting role for the right person, it will be as challenging as it is rewarding as the role and will be integral to the whole lead-generating process.
Key Responsibilities
- Create engaging social media content across the full mix of social channels.
- Using analytics so report on social media performance and suggest improvements.
- Create written content for blog posts, articles, websites, and other print marketing materials.
- Bring ideas to the table and be a part of the marketing planning process.
- Support in the design of various marketing collateral.
- Be the first point of contact for all inbound leads, including phone, email, website Live chat, social media messages/comments.
- Process the leads in a timely manner to enable our sales team to close them effectively.
- Manage the CRM system to aid effective and timely processing of inbound leads.
- Any other activities to support the marketing or sales departments.
The person
Must have
- Experience of working within social media.
- An eye for design with a working knowledge of Canva (or similar design software).
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to write accurately and effectively.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload.
- Customer service skills – dealing with customers on the phone, via email, on Teams.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft package – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
- The willingness to learn new software and technology.
Nice to have
- Experience of using a CRM systems
- Experience of email marketing, including using email automation software
- Experience of writing blog posts
- Knowledge of analytical platforms, such as, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, LinkedIn analytics etc
- SEO knowledge
- Basic WordPress knowledge
