The Role
Reporting to the Heads of Marketing & Publicity, the Marketing and Publicity Assistant provides key administrative support to a busy and dynamic team and covers a range of duties including responding to media queries, organising press and influencer mailings, assisting with author tours, events and signings, collating and distributing media coverage, producing promotional material, digital marketing support across all channels including social media and newsletters. Administrative duties will include processing invoices, organising meetings, arranging travel and hotel bookings. The role will also give the successful candidate the opportunity to be closely involved with publicity and marketing campaigns.
This exciting entry-level opportunity is a full-time and permanent position supporting the adult marketing and publicity teams. Please note that for this role, flexibility is needed outside of core work hours, as it may require the occasional evening and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoices and budget related tasks
- Newsletters and Netgalley approvals
- Scheduling social media posts
- Maintenance of Publicity Catalogue
- Managing deadlines and submissions for The Bookseller/Buyer’s Guide and BBC R2 Book Club entries
- General admin - Book orders, Meeting minutes, Meeting agendas, travel bookings
- Updating all databases – bloggers/ media/ podcasts etc
- Departmental admin
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is a must
- Previous administrative experience
- Previous experience in book publishing
- A good understanding of Marketing or Publicity campaigns
- A good understanding of all social media platforms
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign is beneficial.
