Cadw is the Welsh Government’s historic environment service and looks after 130 historic monuments across Wales. The Marketing, Membership and Partnerships Manager role reports to the Head of Marketing and Business Development with a clear shared goal of promoting the Cadw brand, membership programme and wider activity through marketing, PR and communications. The role also manages the membership programme, including member accusation, retention, administration and communications, and the promotional partnerships strategy, including management of existing new promotional and brand partnerships. The role is supported by one Executive Officer but you may be required to manage more staff over the winter period.

The Marketing, Membership and Partnerships Manager role reports to the Head of Marketing and Business Development with a clear shared goal of promoting the Cadw brand, membership programme and wider activity through marketing, PR and communications. The role also manages the membership programme, including member accusation, retention, administration and communications, and the promotional partnerships strategy, including management of existing new promotional and brand partnerships. The role is supported by one Executive Officer but you may be required to manage more staff over the winter period.

Person specification

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Tourism Development, the Marketing, Membership and Partnerships Manager will:

  • Provide input and strategic advice on all marketing and PR activity, including some copywriting. To be the key point of contact for Cadw’s Marketing and PR agency and manage the wider marketing budget.
  • Lead on Cadw’s corporate membership and promotional partnerships, managing existing partnerships (such as the CSSC, Transport for Wales and Sky VIP) and creating new leads for corporate membership and promotional activity.
  • Lead on Cadw’s membership programme, being the key point of contact for the agency managing the administration of the programme. Oversee comms to members, offers and incentives. To manage the relationship with partner membership organisations (English Heritage, Historic Scotland and Manx heritage).
  • Lead on Cadw’s marketing print production, including working with the internal design and print procurement team, and oversee the strategy for leaflet distribution.
  • Work with the Marketing and PR agency, commission and oversee communications projects for Cadw activity such as conservation projects, capital works and launch events.
  • Lead on social media strategy, including the line management of the EO Marketing and Social Media Executive (who leads on the day-to day operation of Cadw’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). To provide and out-of-hours social media service for emergencies over weekends and bank holidays.
  • Establish relationships with local authorities and destination groups to ensure partnership working in the tourism sector and utilisation of their channels to promote Cadw's messages and activities
  • Oversee Cadw’s lighting and prize giving activity
