About the role:
Reporting to the Festival Managers the Marketing Manager will have the opportunity to further develop their marketing skills in an innovative festival environment.
Your primary responsibility will be assisting the Festival Managers to create a year-round marketing strategy to increase festival ticket sales through public awareness and working together with the wider team to produce leads and drive web traffic.
- Must be self-employed and provide UTR number.
- 6 months starting end January 2022/early February with possibility of continuation.
- Part time 20 hours a week, with some months less and some more but balancing out, £20 an hour.
- Primarily remote working although you will be expected to attend occasional site visits and team meetings in Dumfries & Galloway and be onsite throughout the duration of the festival weekend.
- Closing date 13th January 2023 with remote interviews w/c 16th January 2023.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Traditional Marketing
- Lead on the development, management and monitoring of Eden Festivals marketing strategy.
- With the design team, create marketing materials including both print and digital content.
- Amending Festival website and any associated websites (Resident advisor pages, listings pages etc.)
- Collating the Eden onsite programme materials, liaising with the management team, stage managers and third party design and illustrators.
- Research and manage promotional opportunities across multiple platforms.
- Communicate with the Festivals Press Officer, feeding informational to enable regular press releases to be sent out throughout the year.
- Develop and manage new marketing campaigns.
- Develop the Festivals media partnerships.
- Work with the street promotional team to help identify target events/areas.
Digital
- Confident in handling budgets; ensuring thorough optimisation across paid accounts
- Confident in running paid campaigns on the following platforms; Meta, Google Ads, Linkedin and TikTok
- Able to devise a paid strategy to complement an organic strategy
- Proficient in content creation to enable a presence on TikTok
- Able to drive a strategy that focuses on not only brand awareness but also conversions
- A coherent understanding of Google Analytics and how to action required changes based on learnings
- Produce monthly reports covering organic social, paid ads and SEO with actions to improve month on month
- Work with Festival Managers to create the Festival’s digital strategy as part of overall marketing strategy.
- Creation and management of all social media calendars for Eden digital profiles (social + mailer).
- Update and maintain Eden Mail Chimp audiences and send out at least 2 monthly mailers.
- Creating, scheduling, and monitoring of all social media content across all Eden social media profiles and event pages. With a look to grow engagement and brand awareness
- Working closely with the Festival Managers on site to amplify positive digital activity.
- Working closely with the Festival Managers and onsite Photo/Video teams to create and deliver onsite content collation and campaigns.
- Creating, updating and maintaining the official Eden Spotify account, including populating yearly playlists. Potential to tap into Spotify ads here – an understanding of this would be beneficial
- Working with Artists and Stage Managers to promote Eden Festival through their own digital channels.
Desired Requirements and skills:
- Degree in marketing or related field
- Previous experience in festival or music industry preferable but not essential
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO, analytics, social media/website design
- Experience working with Google, Canva, Adobe and Office programming
- Knowledge of website analytic tools
- Strong written and communication skills
- Highly creative and motivated
