Job description
We need a new junior marketer to help us grow. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a marketing career at a high-growth business. You’ll sit on our marketing engagement team, but you’ll get exposure to all kinds of marketing, with plenty of opportunities to take on more responsibilities and learn new skills.
To start with you will have two main responsibilities. One will be supporting our CRM Manager, as you learn the ropes on all things email marketing, in particular, you’ll own sending regular email campaigns, this needs you to be calm under pressure, with an amazing eye for detail and quality control. But as you learn, you’ll get onto building sophisticated customer journeys, becoming comfortable with handling marketing databases and mastering the intricacies of CRM architecture. Which is a fantastic opportunity to develop increasingly in-demand skills. The other half of the job is engaging with our industry leading user communities, by feeding them regular content and posts, as well as community management and moderation.
So you’ll need to have a knack for communication with understanding and empathy with our customers. This side of the role will allow you to develop skills in narrative control and corporate comms, setting you in good stead to grow into a well-rounded marketer.
This is an entry-level marketing position and whether you’re a recent grad, or someone looking to make a move into the fast-paced world of marketing, this could be just the opportunity you’re after.
It’s the kind of role that will suit someone bright, creative and ambitious. But as well as bringing energy and creativity to the role, you’ll also need to be detail-oriented, have a good head for numbers, and not be afraid of handling big datasets and spreadsheets.
Lastly this role can grow with the right person, as Chip is growing fast, and we have a track record of rewarding dedicated junior staff who demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial streak.
What you can expect to be doing:
- Support the CRM manager to write, build and send regular marketing emails and push notifications
- Build targeted segments from the database, whilst learning to build more complex user journeys
- Proof and QA all emails and pushes
- Report on the success of email campaigns
- Create, coordinate and post regular content to our user communities
- Moderate the user communities and liaise with senior stakeholders to craft corporate comms and shareholder updates
- Work with our Product Marketing Manager to design and deliver regular marketing campaigns and special offers as required.
What we’re really looking for:
- Most importantly, this Marketing Executive needs to be confident and collaborative.
- Have a creative edge to think of fun and innovative ways to engage with our community.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Quickly grasp complex financial matters.
- Someone who has the ability to stay calm under pressure and work across different channels.
Furthermore: ️
Someone with a genuine interest in Chip and is excited about being part of a fast-growing company and our mission to build the investment super app of the future.
Although we’re in the financial space, and under the scrutiny that comes with it, the current marketing team works well together, and even sometimes with a smile. We’re sure you’ve got the technical skills, otherwise, you would have stopped reading by now, so let us be clear on what will make us want to work with you.
We want a real person, with interests outside of work, to join our team. You could be a dancer, a gamer, a musician, a parent, a hockey fan, or even that one person that still writes Twilight fan-fiction. Doesn’t matter to us.
At the interview stages, we will be looking for empathy, eq, fun stories, and the ability to smile even when things are tough.
