JOB PURPOSE
The Technology Standards Manager, Commercial IT is responsible for ensuring we have defined standards for the hardware technology we deploy across our global estate. The Standards Manager will partner with teams from across our IT function, and work with manufacturers and external partners to ensure we have an active hardware management lifecycle policy to enable our teams to operate efficiently with fit for purpose, supportable technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the end to end processes required to manage technology standards for hardware and services deployed to corporate offices, stores and supply chain locations globally
- Develop and maintain an ongoing hardware management lifecycle policy to ensure we balance return on investment with operational effectiveness and supportability for all store and end user technology
- Partner with teams across the IT function to ensure the standards are documented, updated and published in line with agreed process and timelines
- Partner with hardware manufacturers to ensure plans are in place to test, configure and adopt new devices into the standards, paying particular attention to any relevant Cyber Security considerations
- Capture changes to future technology strategy and business requirements that impact future device selection, identifying any local requirements driving specific device utilisation by Region
- Ensure annual budgets are in place to proactively refresh and replace end of life hardware globally
- Ensure support documentation and playbooks are in place to allow 3rd party service partners to effectively build, stage and deploy hardware
- Define the details required to be provided to internal and external support teams relating to hardware deployed as part of the Service Transition process, before new locations are accepted into BAU service
- Work with the Service Management teams to implement action plans to address devices with high failure rates
- Build partnerships with key suppliers and partners to demonstrate future innovation and new opportunities in the market place
- Enthusiastically support the delivery of one-off projects, activities, and initiatives of a global nature
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Experience of working in a global organisation, ideally Retail
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail
- Reporting and presentation experience using PowerPoint/ MS Office
- Ability to work with global teams in a collaborative manner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable owning relationships with external suppliers and vendor management
- Ability to work autonomously with excellent attention to detail
- Self-motivated, creative, energetic, passionate, and able to acclimate in a very fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business settings
