About the role.
The Marketing & eCommerce Manager will own the full on and offline strategy for our send.dhlparcel.co.uk & the DHL Parcel UK area of the dhl.com websites. You will also lead and deliver any and all marketing communications for our sales function, sustainability and expansion roadmap as well as the UK Mail and DHL Parcel UK products, including but not limited to; Returns, Ship, App, Tracking touchpoints and customer facing ServicePoint mechanics.
As Marketing & Ecommerce Manager, you will be responsible for the websites P&Ls with the focus on maximising conversion to lead and online sales driving visitor acquisition and retention through digital channels. You will also own the websites development roadmaps, backlogs, copywriting, and graphic design which will require collaboration with IT and third-party providers, assisting with development releases and identifying opportunities for improvements in UX and new technology/features.
To achieve success in this role, you will champion the needs of the customer – creating & breading the right culture of DHLs common DNA within DHL Parcel UK. You will Be a DHL Brand Guardian, developing a deep understanding of our brand identity what it represents and what it means to buy and use the DHL products. You will support the products and offer campaign management for new and existing products including the delivery of internal campaigns which directly impact revenue opportunities and new product launch campaigns. Reporting, Financials and Data Analysis will play a big part of this role and you will need to be skilled in streamlining/improving current reporting methods, identifying cost efficiencies and analysis the trends and patterns to maximise spends at the right time and in the right way.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities will include the following:
- Be a Coach, Leader, and champion for development - Grow the knowledge and skills within your team and helping individual members achieve their potential.
- Commercial ownership of personal senders / C2X - Driving sales on send.dhlparcel.co.uk in line with annual budgets and forecasts, developing strategy, monitoring performance and liaising with external agencies. Optimising performance, service innovation and tracking improvements through core KPIs and reporting.
- Ownership of all websites, online sales and lead generation within DHL Parcel UK - Manage & oversee the day-to-day maintenance and administration of all the DHL Parcel UK’s websites – having final sign off before any site changes are tested and pushed to live. Including but not limited to send.dhlparcel.co.uk the DHL Parcel UK area of dhl.com, driving sales, leads or to improve the customer experience online.
- Head up DHL Parcel UK’s External Marketing requirements – on and off-line - Lead and oversee direct reports to devise campaigns that help the sales function acquire new business/account customers or enable them to up-sell to the existing business/account customer base.
- Lead customer research, market conditions, competitor analysis and new technologies that drive sales or leads - Customer pricing reviews of the C2X offering against resellers and other C2X carries.
What are the requirements?
- Proven track record of working within a similar role for 5+ years with traffic generation, eCommerce and product management experience.
- Track record of working to brand and copy guidelines.
- Confident in managing a six figure plus budget, quantifying and forecasting benefits - measuring impact via analytics and conversion tracking.
- Strong analytical and quick decision-making ability.
- Commercially focused and able to put yourself in the shoes of the customer.
- Team-player with a leadership mind-set prepared to get involved.
- Ability to interact with technical teams to support future development roadmaps and trouble shout live issues.
- Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships across the exec, product, commercial, operation, IT, finance, and customer service teams and central functions.
- Stay abreast of trends, insights, and technologies to ensure the latest opportunities are constantly explored.
- Results driven to achieve the required financial outcomes.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS and CMS.
- Solid understanding of enterprise email platforms including trigger-based marketing.
- Excellent understanding of Google Analytics and or similar analytics tools to measure online success.
- Excellent attention to detail; ability to proofread and look for continuity issues within any reports/creative/copy produced.
