Role Outline
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Marketing & Data Analyst to support the Gumtree Marketing proposition, ensuring we are reporting the impacts of our marketing as effectively and as accurately as possible. You will report to the Senior BI Analyst with a dedicated focus to our talented Marketing Team.
The role will support the enablement of accurate, easy and timely data driven decision-making. Working with stakeholders and the wider teams to generate insights from our in-house data, identify new opportunities and actionable insights across the various marketing channels.
The role of Marketing & Data Analyst will define, monitor, interpret and adjust marketing metrics together with relevant stakeholders and make recommendations as needed to ensure we are optimising campaigns effectively and driving overall marketing effectiveness. Supporting the A&R (Paid / CRM) and Brand team with tracking, reporting and campaign evaluation through robust reporting, attribution modelling real time dashboards and econometric modelling.
The role will also be required to support on market and competitor insight and analysis, supporting the team strategically with longer term marketing initiatives.
This role acts as Marketing's voice, working closely with stakeholders to communicate effectively the contribution marketing makes to business performance (vibrancy and revenue), communicating activities, successes and strategy to the wider company, as well as managing questions on performance and ROI.
You will be well versed in the marketing landscape, and have the ability to connect different data sources for a 360 view of marketing performance. You will understand the balance between long and short term marketing and the full funnel mix.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide analytical insight to channel specialists across the team, with the aim of improving performance, this includes creation and management of dashboards as well as analysis
- Determine the best way for Marketing to track performance across all channels, and build out the required models and resources to achieve this (attribution and econometric modelling)
- Forecast performance and key metrics
- Help design, run and interpret campaign and channel tests
- Understand the Gumtree audience and the key customer journeys to feed back insights to Marketing and Product
- Understand and help measure the market, competitor performance & future trends
Skills / Experience Required
- Previous experience as a Marketing Analyst working with a diverse set of marketing channels including SEM, CRM, marketing attribution, brand marketing, content marketing and conversion optimization
- Solid skills and hands on experience in data retrieval and analysis of complex data sets (e.g. SQL, R or Python)
- Previous experience in attribution/mmm/econometric modelling
- Experience around visualisation & dashboard design with a focus on business stakeholders needs (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio)
- Knowledge of and the challenges of attribution in a modern ecosystem
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with conducting competitive research and analysing benchmarking data is an advantage
