Brand & Used Car Marketing Leader
Pendragon PLC Central Operations, Nottinghamshire (Hybrid)
Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months

As a Used Car Marketing Leader, you will develop, execute, and measure retail marketing activity across Pendragon businesses to drive brand consideration and used vehicle sales and aftercare opportunities nationally, whilst also driving used vehicle inventory acquisition through our Sell Your Car services.
What does the role of Brand & Used Car Marketing Leader involve?
- Contribute to developing the Brand and Used car marketing and media campaigns and strategies
- Support with the development of Sell Your Car campaign development and implementation to deliver improved performance
- Create plans to deliver the Aftersales strategy that improve business performance
- Support with evaluation of campaigns to continually improve marketing performance
- Support the Used car brand stores and teams with any POS or asset requirements aligned to relevant marketing campaigns or partnerships
- Lead the teams cross functionally to populate the annual marketing content calendar to ensure visibility of the forthcoming activity and plans
- Work alongside key internal team and external agency team members, attending collective status calls to update on key marketing projects
- Work with our in-house digital team to optimise the performance of paid Search, Display and social media campaigns, creative agencies to help develop media and PR plans, and our in-house design and content teams to generate Used Car and Sell Your Car communications
- Produce creative briefs for internal design studio and external agency partners to build customer communications
- Work collaboratively with third party partnerships leader to deliver effective ROI with used vehicle listing aggregator websites
- Lead, coach and develop the Used Car Marketing Exec to deliver campaign activity and reporting, ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to and performance reporting in place
- Lead, coach and develop the Sell Your Car, Aftersales & Finance Marketing Exec ensuring the plans are delivered to time and on budget with performance reporting in place to continually improve results
- Oversee the marketing Exec as custodian of the online booking tools, ensuring that they are fit for purpose
- Assist in the development and delivery of brand guidelines alongside our Head of Brand and the appointed creative agency, whilst working collaboratively with our Operations team to develop and communicate vehicle presentation best practices to our retailers
- Support with various communications to cascade the marketing and media campaigns and plans
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the online merchandising standards
- Manage financial planning and monitor lead performance weekly, identifying growth opportunities and implement improvements to maximise used vehicle and Sell Your Car enquiries via a variety of tools
- Work alongside the Franchise Marketing Managers to maximise visibility for Pendragon retailers, whilst ensuring all marketing activity is compliant with the latest legal guidelines and advice
What qualities do I need to succeed in the Brand & Used Car Marketing Leader role?
- Experience within retail marketing or other similar, fast-paced industry, preferably with understanding of automotive retail
- Experience of coaching others, with effective communication skills and confidence in presenting to a variety of stakeholders
- Sound understanding of the digital marketing landscape, with a willingness to learn and test new media, and experience of delivering multi-channel campaigns to budgets
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task, working cross-functionally with key stakeholders and manage time effectively under pressure, plus a dedication to excellence
- Tenacious with a collaborative mindset
