Position primary purpose and
general responsibilities:
The chief purpose of this position is to support the Division of Student Affairs as well as
the departments it serves through digital media activities and initiatives. Reporting to the
Director of Communications and Marketing, this position will serve as an added resource
for the Division while working closely with the Division’s departments to provide support
in the areas of graphic design, web design and development, digital media projects and
social media.

Typical Education and Experience:
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design software.
- Working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and
- Professional working experience in web design/development.
- Knowledge of web content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal and
- Evidence of strong communication skills, including listening, writing, and speaking.
- Knowledge of web industry design and development standards, concepts, and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to think analytically and work strategically.
- Capacity to work creatively in both collaborative and independent contexts.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to make efficient use of available resources.
- Ability to understand and comply with University and State policies, procedures, and

- B.A./B.S. in communications, marketing or related field, or equivalent training and/or
- Knowledge of AP style.
- Knowledge of best practices for printed publications.
- Familiarity with social media and related platforms highly preferred.
- Knowledge of responsive design and frameworks and familiarity with web accessibility
- Knowledge of photography and videography best practices and implementation.
- Experience in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of Division goals, operations, personnel, functions, services, facilities, and
- Knowledge of student development, student learning outcomes and assessment,
