Job description
Who are we?
Field & Flower was founded in 2011 by two friends after meeting at agricultural university, one a farmer and the other a food lover. We are a leading UK food subscription business specialising in grass fed, free-range meat and responsibly caught fish. We also offer a range of artisan cheese, scotch eggs, pies, charcuterie, stocks, salts and seasonings – supporting livestock, local livelihoods and a living planet with every product we sell.
Does this sound like you?
Field & Flower’s Marketing Manager is responsible for all brand communications and creative assets, as well as some customer acquisition channels, retention strategy and Field & Friends (our loyalty programme). To succeed in this role you need to be both a creative and commercial thinker.
Having recently undergone a rebrand, communicating our purpose has never been more important. You will be the guardian of this message, continually striving to create a community of customers who care about food, farming, and the provenance of the meat they buy.
An interest in the agricultural industry is a must. We pride ourselves on being the market leader in educating and inspiring more people to choose quality and welfare over cost, to invest in local farmers, and to change more people’s perspective on the environmental impact of meat.
What you will doing
- The acquisition channels you’ll manage will be organic social, email, print collateral, and seasonal PR campaigns. You will also be responsible for key web assets, including seasonal content blocks on the homepage and in customer accounts. Owning the marketing campaigns for peak seasonal periods, including Christmas, Easter, and BBQ.
- You will be the last point of call for all brand communications and creative assets. Exceptional copywriting and proofreading is a must, as well as an ability to interpret and implement TOV guidelines and suggest new ideas for design projects.
- Managing part of the marketing budget and aligning this with our 12-month content calendar. You will produce month-to-month forecasts to account for any changes in baseline performance, new channel tests, or offers that may be taking place.
- Suggesting new channel tests and putting forward a business case to do so, as well as implementing strategies to continually test and improve our existing marketing efforts. Integrating our customer profiling work and RFV segmentation into all marketing communications.
- Reviewing the success of our loyalty programme and its impact on retention. Working with our Retentions Assistant to tailor winback campaigns based on cancellation data.
- Monitoring one-off conversion rates and suggesting improvements or new ideas to convert more one-off customers to subscription.
- Briefing design projects to our inhouse designer, then working with the marketing team to ensure that all creative assets are on brand and optimised for commercial success.
- Working with the Product Team to align new product launches with marketing communications, ensuring the marketing team are equipped with the knowledge they need to showcase our products (no product is without a story at Field & Flower).
- Leading creative content sessions with the marketing team (and beyond) to generate new ideas for key seasonal periods and recipe shoots.
- Liaising with freelance photographers, videographers, food stylists and prop stylists to organise and brief seasonal shoots. This includes farm visits and recipe shoots.
- Keeping your finger on the pulse with trending news stories or articles that are relevant to our industry, then working with the Marketing Executive to provide commentary on our organic social channels and/or email newsletter.
