Marketing Assistant

Reports To: Marketing and Business Development Manager
Full Time: Full Time (35 hours per week over 5 days )
Rate of Pay: £25,000 pa
Location: STEP Stirling Enterprise Park, Stirling, FK7 7RP
Position Type: 18-month Fixed Term

We are looking for a Marketing Assistant to join us on fixed term basis for 18 months with a potential extension.

Our Marketing team are an essential part of giving STEP life, making connections with our audiences, and driving growth through sales driven campaigns. As the Marketing Assistant, you'll be responsible for overseeing and executing campaigns across multiple channels and platforms. You'll create compelling content and devise innovative campaigns. In addition, you'll have a knack for social media and enjoy capturing company activities through photos and videos for our social pages.

About STEP
STEP has been supporting businesses for over three decades. When we started in 1983, we wanted to build more than just an office block, business park or commercial property. We wanted to build a community of businesses where companies could start, grow, and lean on each other in a supportive environment.

Today we support 3,000 businesses on average per year and manage over 200 spaces across five sites.

All our profits are invested back into business support activities and delivering services that have a positive impact on the local economy.

On behalf of the Scottish Government, we deliver the contract for Business Gateway services across Stirling and contract for other public-funded contracts when relevant.

What you’ll do at STEP

As Marketing Assistant, you will work across a range of marketing disciplines including Branding, Digital Marketing, Communications, Events and more. You will focus on ad hoc commercial marketing connecting leads through to sales, adapting dependant on demand and resource.

Branding and Marketing

  • Support management of social media channels to drive leads and brand awareness.
  • Maintain the brand standards ensuring compliance in all promotional material, written documentation and online resources throughout the business.
  • Be a vital part of delivering the overall business goals.
  • Support management of company Google Pay Per Click AdWords accounts.
  • Support management of company websites, update, and maintain where needed.
  • Maintain marketing database, stakeholders, and relevant lists on Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Maintain and manage any company listings.
  • Support Business Gateway National with marketing duties such as creating adverts for local press.
  • Creation of company-branded content/collateral and assisting in the creation of branded adverts for local businesses when required.

Communications

  • Assist in all communications to database and stakeholders.
  • Support in writing content for business magazine.
  • Create PR topics, write releases and liaise with local/national media.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to develop, write, and strategically release case studies to raise product awareness.
  • Develop and manage regular consumer, stakeholder, and internal surveys.

Events

  • Support in organising and delivering a calendar of business events to engage the business community to create potential leads and ambassadors of STEP.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy (through social media, Eventbrite, web content, Mailchimp etc.) for customers to drive engagement and participation in events.
  • Record and report on engagement from event participants, enabling data capture for analysis and deployment of subsequent marketing campaigns.
  • Take ownership of social media channels pre, post and during events to drive awareness engagement and leads.
  • Write pre- and post-event articles to drive awareness.

Where you’ll work

This role allows for a blended approach to your working environment. You will be required to work at minimum three days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) from STEP Stirling Enterprise Park.

Essential

  • Previous hands-on experience in Marketing and Communications.
  • Qualification in Marketing and/or University graduate (BA or BSc).
  • Experience in using Marketing Platforms such as:

- Social Media
- Google AdWords
- Mail Chimp

- Eventbrite

- SurveyMonkey

  • Must be highly organised, efficient, and thorough, and able to coordinate multiple ongoing tasks.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently.
  • Ability and experience to manage resources and prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Enthusiasm and proactive nature for identifying solutions to problems.
  • Good people skills and a helpful and supportive attitude.
  • Able to work across teams and liaise confidently with colleagues at all levels.
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in using Marketing Platforms such as:

- Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- WordPress
- Canva
- Google My Business
- Google Analytics
- Microsoft Suite (Including publisher)

  • Experience in writing press releases, blog posts etc.…
  • Confident in delivery Marketing Training.
  • Experience in working with client's to create Marketing plans
  • Experience in deputising and coordinating activities for Marketing Manager during periods of leave.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
