A well-known and reputable services business based on the outskirts of Harrogate is recruiting a Credit Controller to join their fast-paced finance team. On offer is a salary of up to £27,000, alongside excellent benefits including 25 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays, that increase with service). The company offer real opportunities to develop and progress with the chance to develop into a senior role over time and to learn from an extremely experienced and personable Credit Manager. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
This is an end-to-end credit based role where building up relationships and providing excellent customer service is key.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a leading business who will offer the successful candidate a full training and development programme and hybrid working from the start.
Reporting into the Credit Manager, key responsibilities for the Credit Controller will include:
- Building relationships to ensure cash collection on a day to day basis, both over the phone and via email
- Maintaining and developing relationships with clients and negotiating payment terms
- Dealing with queries and any problematic accounts
- Checking company credit scores and reviewing applications
- Setting up terms and conditions of credit
- Working towards clear collection targets and processes
- Daily posting and allocating of receipts, bank reconciliation and processing of sales invoices
- Weekly sales reconciliation and month-end reporting
- Working closely with overseas teams and being a main point of contact for queries
The successful Credit Controller will have an excellent telephone manner with strong customer service and negotiation skills and will have proven experience within all aspects of the credit control process.
To be successful in this Credit Controller role, individuals will ideally:
- Have previous credit control experience within a fast paced, high volume environment
- Be able to work towards targets and deadlines whilst retaining a high level of customer service
- Have strong IT skills and will be comfortable with Excel
- Be enthusiastic, confident and keen to learn new skills
- Be able to work in a fast paced, ever changed environment
