Job description
Marketing Assistant
At itison we match our 1.7m households to the best local businesses, create our own world class events, run some of our home city’s best venues, and donate experiences to those who need them the most through our own charity.
We believe our business should be a force for good and a great place for a career, but above all we believe work should be fun and that the experience starts with us.
We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Marketing Assistant to join our fast-paced Marketing team, working across itison, our events portfolio and five of Glasgow’s best loved venues.
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about discovering the best of what Scotland has to offer, knows how to tell a great story and can capture the visuals to accompany it, and has bucket loads of creativity and great attention to detail.
This role is based full time from our Glasgow HQ.
What you'll be doing
The Marketing Assistant is the force behind us discovering the best businesses to work with in Scotland. We’re looking for new openings, hidden gems and old favourites. It’ll be your job to research the businesses we should be working with, and once they have been converted to work with itison, help to promote the business to our members.
The role will be split in to 3 parts:
-
Research
- Uncovering the best businesses in the country across events, hotels, restaurants and attractions.
- You’ll be the first to know about new openings and have a nose for finding Scotland’s hidden gems.
- You should have a love of systems and the curiosity to find ways to get them working efficiently for you
-
Social:
- Helping execute content strategies including creating and scheduling content across social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn)
- Capturing photo & video content for the itison brand, and our business clients (hosts)
- Contributing ideas and working on marketing campaigns, including copywriting for social and other digital channels
- Supporting our paid social strategy and campaigns by building ads in Facebook Ads Manager
-
Marketing tasks:
- Ad hoc marketing tasks including issuing press materials, liaising with influencers & sourcing props for all social activity.
Key Skills
- Strong written skills with experience in copywriting and the ability to write engaging copy for different audiences and channels
- Good organisational, time management, and project management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multi-task and complete jobs to strict deadlines
- Experience of using a CRM for data entry and reporting is an asset
- Proven experience as a social media creator (this can be on your own social accounts)
- Proactive and naturally self-motivated to learn and deliver quality work
- A creative mindset and ability to think outside the box
- Experience using Canva / Adobe for content creation is an asset
- Previous experience working in a busy office environment, dealing with admin tasks and software
- Enthusiastic, energetic and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Your superpower will be the ability to be both creative and analytical.
A background in marketing is desirable, however we’re more interested in your ability to tell stories and demonstrate your abilities here than we are in marketing or professional qualifications. A passion for discovery is essential.
