Canterbury Cathedral is one of the nations greatest heritage buildings and well-known all over the world. The Cathedral community welcomes more than 1 million visitors each year and delivers over 2,000 events and services. In recent years, the Cathedral and its Precincts has been on an exciting journey, undergoing a programme of development and restoration, to enrich the experience of those who visit. To continue to build on this journey, we now have an exciting opportunity for the appointment of a Marketing and Communications Officer to join the busy Communications team who work to promote the Cathedral, its work and Mission, using a full range of high quality communication channels for its many different audiences.
The Marketing and Communications Officer will undertake targeted marketing campaigns; be responsible for the Cathedrals social media channels; maintain and update content on the Cathedrals website; oversee internal communications; assist with press visits and filming requests; and design, proof and produce engaging content including e-newsletters, adverts, flyers, booklets, and posters.
We are therefore seeking applicants who are proactive and organised with sound experience of working in a marketing, communications, PR, design or events function; have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; are highly skilled in the use of Adobe and Microsoft applications, CMS Editor and photography and image editing; have experience of creating and managing effective marketing/advertising campaigns and materials; and have demonstrable experience of using social media for corporate communications and audience engagement.
