What you need to know about the role
We are now recruiting for Manufacturing Trainees to be based at our Skinningrove site.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain extensive training and experience with a leading steel manufacturer. You will receive comprehensive and structured on the job training which will help you develop your manufacturing knowledge and personal skills.

You will be part of a proactive manufacturing team, working towards production targets and ensuring the highest health and safety standards are maintained throughout. Health and Safety is our number one priority and as such you will receive a significant amount of training in this area to ensure you have the highest level of knowledge to maintain a safe working environment.

Manufacturing Operational tasks include but are not limited to;

  • Crane driving (pendant, remote and cab operated overhead)
  • Machine / process operation
  • General material movement (slinging and lifting, Forklift Driving)
  • Burning
  • Manual Handling

What we need to know about you
We are looking for highly motivated, flexible, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our varied and diverse teams across the Skinningrove site. These are shift based roles (including weekend working) therefore you must be aged 18 years or over in order to satisfy the legal requirement for shift working.

You must be qualified to GCSE grade C (4) or abovebn in English and Maths and basic IT skills would also be of benefit.

It is essential that you have a full and valid driving licence (motorbike or car) as this is a requirement for mobile plant training. Any relevant experience of working with mobile plant would also be of benefit. You need to be able to work well within a team and possess excellent communication skills, be willing to learn and have a drive to succeed.

What we can offer you
You will join as a Manufacturing Trainee with the first 6 months being your training period and will receive a basic salary of £22,819 whilst you train and gain knowledge and experience. Following this 6 month period your wage will rise to £24,000. After 18 months you will then move on to the full departmental rate for the area, typically £26,000.

You will also receive up to 30% shift allowance from day one (dependant on shift system worked).
