WHAT TO EXPECT
The MPM (Manufacturing Programme Management) department has responsibility for leading & co-ordinating all business functions with the objective of achieving flawless product launches, with achievement of time, cost and quality targets, MPM provide the Single Point of Contact for Manufacturing. This requires interaction & co-ordination of Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Finance, Suppliers and the Commercial activities.
This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the E2E Manufacturing Programme environment. The Manufacturing Programme Management function hold a unique position at the heart of manufacturing delivery - from initial feasibility through to detail launch planning and delivery and into volume production of both vehicles and powertrain units. This role will bring you into contact with an extensive number of areas in the business and provide you with an opportunity to develop and utilise your transferrable skills in both the planning and delivery of our new products.
You will be a key member of the MPM lifecycle team, looking for opportunity throughout the lifespan of a product and aiming to deliver these opportunities across current production, future programmes and future concepts. You will be part of a team defining how we continually progress the integration of manufacturing into the product lifecycle, using data and lessons from current product and programmes to help define future programme targets. You will be at the heart of a newly founded team within MPM –helping shape, define and develop the future of the lifecycle team with your role and inputs.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Delivery:
- Supporting and facilitating delivery of key lifecycle workstreams, realising cost benefits
- Support the planning and delivery of manufacturing plans for delivery prototype, pre-production build phases and J1
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and objective status reports in support of programme management meetings and senior programme reviews (MSC, Pre-Prod and Prod Committee) Support use of project management tools to support a smooth project delivery (Agile methodologies, P6)
Quality:
- Identify and engage in continuous improvement & standardisation activities within the business improvement team
- Support the planning and coordination of quality focus area activities
- Support and coordinate structured problem solving across cross functional teams in preventing and resolving launch issues
Cost:
- Support cost target development & programme cost studies within MFG
- Support tracking of manufacturing financial input in terms of Tooling, Facilities, Launch and OPEX costs.
- Assist development of Manufacturing responses to Programme PDLs and Change Management requests.
People:
- Demonstrate exemplary Customer First Principles to create a positive working atmosphere
- Ability to represent the ‘voice of manufacturing’ in cross functional reviews
- Support the improvement of employee engagement & satisfaction (PULSE) within the team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
- Experience of project management
- Experience of data management, visualisation, analysis and relevant tools
- Experience in using data driven problem solving techniques
- Experience of working in a quality focussed role
- Microsoft package elements (Power Point & Excel)
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement and working in a project support role
- Proficient communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Experience of metric reporting and delivery
- Experience of working in a product launch environment
- Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
- International Manufacturing Experience, we operate in an international landscape so any experience and an understanding of the Global manufacturing environment would be desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of advanced data discovery and data application
