WHAT TO EXPECT
The MPM (Manufacturing Programme Management) department has responsibility for leading & co-ordinating all business functions with the objective of achieving flawless product launches, with achievement of time, cost and quality targets while providing the Single Point of Contact for Manufacturing. This requires interaction & co-ordination of Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Finance, Suppliers and the Commercial activities.
The role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the End to End (Strategy/Deliver/Launch) Manufacturing Programme environment and holds a unique position at the heart of manufacturing delivery - from initial feasibility through to detail launch planning and delivery into volume production of both vehicles and powertrain units.
This role will bring you into contact with an extensive number of areas in the business and provide you with an opportunity to develop and utilise your transferrable project management skills in both the planning and delivery of our new products.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Delivery:
- Support delivery of programme against overall timing plan from kick off to launch completion.
- Support the planning and delivery of manufacturing plans for delivery of prototype, pre-production build phases and launch.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and objective technical status reports in programme/launch management meetings and senior programme gateway reviews.
- Implement the use of management tools to support a smooth project delivery (Agile methodologies, timing tools)
Quality:
- Assist functional areas within manufacturing to drive quality products & processes with robust input into launch quality deliverables, high hurts process, PFMEAs etc.
- Identify and engage in continuous improvement & standardisation activities within the business improvement team.
- Support the planning and coordination of quality focus area activities.
- Support and coordinate structured problem solving across multiple functional teams in preventing and resolving launch issues.
- Support all manufacturing functions in the robust resolution of programme issues (issue management systems) to deliver product feasibility and manufacturing launch readiness.
- Governance of process containments across all launch phases
Cost:
- Support cost target development & programme cost studies within manufacturing.
- Support tracking of manufacturing financial input in terms of Tooling, Facilities, Launch and Operational costs (TFLE)
- Assist development of manufacturing responses to programme assumptions and change management requests
- Support the development and maintenance of the manufacturing programme budgets, including implementation and management of key financial system structure.
People:
- Lead cross functional reviews to address programme issues using issue management tools.
- Support manufacturing lead reviews
- Demonstrate key behavioural attributes to create a positive working environment.
- Ability to represent the ‘voice of manufacturing’ in cross functional reviews.
- Support the improvement of employee engagement & satisfaction within the team.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
- Experience of project management
- Experience in using data driven problem solving techniques.
- Experience of working in a new product launch environment
- Experience of working in a quality focussed role
- Microsoft package elements (PowerPoint & Excel)
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement and working in a project support role
- Proficient communication and organisational skills
