Role Profile
Domestic Abuse Children and Young Persons Support Worker
Fixed Term until November 2024 and may be extended dependent on funding
Part time and full time hours subject to negotiation.
Accountable to Children and Young Persons Programmes Manager
Salary £20,600 pro rata rising to £21,000 - £21,500 after 6 months probation
Locations Brecon (Powys). Usual working pattern Monday to Friday - TBC

Calan DVS is one of the largest domestic abuse charities in Wales and we are committed to working in partnership to end domestic violence and abuse. Our staff are passionate about what they do and deliver much needed services to support some of the most vulnerable people in society. Our service was formed in 2012 and we cover a large and varied geographical area, providing services across Neath Port Talbot, South Powys and Ammanford (Carmarthenshire). Our services range from refuge accommodation for female victims and their children, support in the community and crisis drop in services for female and male victims, support for children and young people exposed to domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and trauma informed family programmes. About you....
We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual who is committed to reducing the impact on the lives of children who have been affected by domestic abuse. You will have knowledge and understanding of the issues associated with domestic abuse and its effects on families, experience in liaising with statutory and voluntary agencies, at least 2 years working with vulnerable children and families and as a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field or willingness to work towards one, i.e. social care or health.
You will have a passion to support Calan to achieve its strategic aims to increase and diversify our current programmes to help drive forward our continuous development and success.

This role will require an enhanced DBS check pus a full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
This job requires the employee to be available , on a rota basis for evening, weekend and bank holiday on call.
