A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles. WHAT TO EXPECT The purpose of this role is to develop and execute Logistics solutions & automation strategies for JLR production plants in support of local and international programmes. The role will provide technical support and work towards developing and executing a robust change programme plan to ensure logistics operations are competitive in performance and value. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Develop warehousing and logistics solutions to drive towards benchmark CPU/ HPU performance Identify waste removal opportunities & create solutions to reduce or eliminate. Identify new technologies and opportunities to apply to JLR logistics solutions Manage delivery of defined project elements in line with SQCDME Liaise with stakeholders (e.g. Material Flow & Logistics Providers) to optimise end-to end processes & solutions Define solution requirements & create functional specifications ensuring project inputs are correct (e.g. data/ assumptions) Generate layouts & process flows Translate operational business needs into requirements & deliverables for IT & Automated solutions. Analyse data sets to define requirements Create RFQ's and manage through process to nomination Support Logistics Project Management Team to ensure projects are delivered within budget Problem Solving Raise and manage shopping carts / PO's Define testing and approval requirements for IT & automation solutions Liaise with facilities team to ensure facilities team deliverables are clearly defined and handed over Report out status on project responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL NEED Knowledge, Skills and Experience Previous experience in Supply Chain Solution design Experience of Value Stream Mapping, identification and elimination of waste Project management of multiple concurrent projects Strong analytical skills and statistical ability Experience of process improvement Relevant degree or equivalent experience A good communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex ideas. An individual with the ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style. CAD experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Delivery of logistics automation solutions Experience of logistics IT specification JLR
