Job Description: Manufacturing Operative
You will be based at our Red Bridge site in Bolton and will be working as a Manufacturing Operative. In this role you will work as part of a production team in a batch process, factory environment. You will be based in the coating area and will be responsible for operating a variety of coating and printing machines, some activities will involve manual handling and some physical exertion. Although you will be primarily based in the coating department you may need to move around the site and train in other areas where required. We are looking for someone who wants to run machines, get to know our manufacturing processes, helping to solve quality problems and help make the workplace more efficient and safer.
Main Responsibilities:
You will be working in a manufacturing environment and you will receive training to complete the tasks below:
What you will be doing
- Learn about and train in the coating areas of the business and become multiskilled
- Setting up and operating a variety of coating machines and where necessary, equipment used for mixing, embossing, sheeting, slitting, guillotining.
- Learning about the base materials, coatings and finishes of the products
- Learning about the process routes for products
- Learning about colour matching
- Carrying out quality checks
- Safe working practices + the importance of Health and Safety at Work
- Reporting material and equipment faults to Supervisors
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas
- Learn how the plant operates & what needs to be achieved on a daily, weekly, yearly basis.
- Learn from other departments to get a full understanding of the business
- Getting involved in Continuous Improvement activities
