Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Test and Maintenance
Salary : £49,380 - £58,715 (Depending on Experience)

The Opportunity
As a leader within the Stafford team you will be working with a growing and highly focused team of Engineers and Supervisors. The team is responsible for driving continuous improvement and technology integration into a live operational environment.
The role would require you to own and manage improvement projects, provide leadership within the Manufacturing Engineering team, facility upgrades and value add solutions as we integrate our new model line-up into our facility. We are looking for a driven, innovative and inquisitive individual who is ready to join our team.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be based within the Technical Services department. Required to generate facility improvement programs to support our continued journey to operational excellence. Work will encompass all aspects of Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost helping to deliver on KPI deliverables supporting site leadership objectives. The individual will work collaboratively across the facility Operational and global teams, to ensure projects are delivered to support our wider process improvements.
As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, your responsibilities are to include:
Overall accountability for the Current Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Projects departments.
Leadership of larger scale projects and process changes utilising core project management methodology and tools.
Coach, guide and teach the team with technical expertise in production and /or performance testing of internal combustion engines.
Translating key engineering performance criteria into process system controls and leading pass off criteria development and execution for all manufacturing engineering projects.
Coordination of capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction by conducting research, implementing world class manufacturing engineering core strategies and governance, whilst ensuring full process legacy documentation and compliance approvals are in place.
Continuing professional development; understanding industry changes by attending other facilities and/or product demonstrations and identifying and deploying ongoing improvements in processes and technologies to better serve customers.
Management of implementation and monitoring processes relating to ensuring equipment performance and process statutory compliance.
Overseeing daily activities of the Current Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering Projects teams, aligning workloads, providing escalation support where needed.
Analyse existing data and processes to maximise facility OEE and Right First Time (RFT) targets through the implementation of best practices, new equipment and manufacturing systems.
Report project status at key milestones to facility and business stakeholders.
Responsible for supporting and contribution to safety targets, revenue costs, quality, performance.
Ensuring optimum use of equipment and space in support of changing production requirements.
Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes to support management decisions by utilising core manufacturing engineering methodologies and tools.
Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develops solutions, and monitors improvements.
Skills and Experience:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles :
University or technical school degree in an Engineering, Manufacturing, or other Technical related degree.
Demonstrated experience and thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts, methodologies, tools within an internal combustion engine manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated capability for having led a team; able to inspire and set standards in leadership and development.
Solution focused, collaborative in approach, able to influence stakeholders to and drive change.
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Experienced in the application of lean methodologies including Six Sigma and Kaizen improvement tools.
IOSH/NEBOSH Qualification
Knowledge of PLC, I/O systems
Good understanding of a factory operational environment.
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
