Manufacturing Engineer
Turbo Solutions, located in Pennsauken NJ, is a leading wholesale supplier of new and remanufactured Turbochargers, specializing in heavy and medium duty trucks. This position will offer you the opportunity to lead our quality initiative, working directly with production, customer service and fellow management, driving continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Support the management of all quality – related issues within the remanufacturing team (ex: potential production, vendor, and customer warranty related).
· Identify root cause and implement permanent corrective actions for supplier product and workmanship quality issues.
· Communicate with suppliers regarding quality issues and corrective actions.
· Lead the development of Design and Process FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
· Ensure control plans and associated documentation, such as SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) are implemented & maintained effectively.
· Perform product and process auditing.
· Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators (KPI’s)
· Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to Quality Management System (TS16949 / ISO9001).
· Write product test procedures for inspection and approval on new product development samples.
· Lead training on quality awareness for all production employees, customer service, sales and management.
· Communicate with customers, regarding quality issues and supply education and training.
· Lead quality audits and process improvement activities.
· Achieve budget goals as to quality improvement, warranty reduction.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
· 3 – 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment, automotive a plus.
· Understanding of Manufacturing principles and systems.
· Strong interpersonal skills as well as communication skills (written and verbal).
· Business Central Dynamics, or other supply chain ERP System.
· Problem-solving and analytical skills, along with cost and financial impacts.
· Prioritization and understanding of Safety practices.
