1. OBJECTIVES
Define and validate the sheet metal manufacturing process from engineering definition within the requirement HSE, quality and budget.
2. RESPONSIBILITES
2.1 Direct responsibilities
Design to produce at objective cost
Define manufacturing processes, ensure all processes are consistent and compliant with specifications
Design manufacturing processes with ergonomic risks in mind
Create and validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points and methods of inspection
Ensure that effective plant, equipment and tooling strategies are in place
Create routes, BOMS, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, CM's and drawings
Ensure that the performance of the process meets defined targets (quality ,Cp&Cpk, cost, delivery)
Coordinate the activities necessary for the establishment of means of production in the other sectors
Engineering Vehicles, General Services, Logistics)
Provide expert guidance to suppliers (internal and external) if necessary
Plan, drive and coordinate the activities contributing to the industrial product validation (methods, Purchasing, engineering ...) to meet cost targets, quality, and deadlines.
Support the preparation of industrialization reviewed by methods to ensure the maturity of Industrialization.
Represent the manufacturing engineering at the customer, in coordination with Industrial Programme Manager
Establish global manufacturing process concepts, oversee the selection of plant and equipment and the preparation of factory layouts, and support the definition of detailed workplace layouts
Pilot development projects and ensure compliance with the schedule and cost targets
Evaluate the risks of changes and offer these risks reduction actions with a PFMEA
Job requirements
2.2 Mandatory Expertise
Experience of sheet metal manufacturing engineering in an Aerospace background.
Knowledge of Titanium, Aluminium and Steel Aerospace materials and their mechanical properties.
Knowledge of material heat treatment and understanding of material transformations in the heat treatment process
Manufacturing Engineering experience from leading edge environments
Proficiency in the MRPII process
Knowledge of business economics
Engineering Degree with elements of mechanical, manufacturing and materials/HND or equivalent experience
General aircraft knowledge and experience of civil A/C nacelle structures
