Manufacturing Engineer
Our client in Abingdon, Oxford are looking for a highly experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join them on a permanent basis, to support their business which specialises in Lean manufacturing, supply chain management and precision engineering.
The Package for Manufacturing Engineer:
- A salary of £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience

The Manufacturing Engineer needs to have a strong background in all of the following:
Welding inspection/pressure & leak testing/ excellent ability to red engineering drawings / design jigs and fixtures suitable for fabricated parts.
Must be able to do all of the above
Responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Evaluate manufacturing processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
- Study production and machine requirements
- Develop and test effective automated and manual systems
- Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance
- Resolve issues and delays in production
- Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
- Train staff in new and existing processes
Skills required for Manufacturing Engineer role:
- Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role
- Lean, Six Sigma, 5S and CIP practices
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)
- Welding experience is essential.
- Ability to occasionally work late shifts
- Degree in Engineering
