MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER I
This position is responsible for managing the manufacturing engineering function for the 400 Series Casement Value-stream within the Bayport Window Plant. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing an annual strategy focused on operations excellence, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation within our manufacturing processes. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity.
This position ensures that the assigned manufacturing engineering team is operated in accordance with Andersen’s values, employee covenant, and strategic direction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with operations leadership, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to lead and manage change within the 400 Series Casement value-stream
- Support delivery of our SQDC metrics and hold team accountable to targets
- Aligns resources to strategic goals and objectives
- Develop and execute projects focused on near term and long-term capacity needs
- Ensure that our teams and working partners utilize and adhere to our engineering and project management toolkits
- Work with business partners and leverage data to determine project focus and improvement opportunities
- Lead resolution efforts for supplier and customer corrective actions
- Develop, execute, and manage a capital investment plan for the value-stream
- Identify, recruit and onboard engineering and technician talent as needed
- Establish an environment conducive to teamwork, high morale, employee satisfaction and performance
- Establish annual functional and project expense budgets and deliver on target
- Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment, and financial resources necessary to meet internal and external customer expectations
- Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to employees and managers to promote the growth and development of the manufacturing engineering team
- Be highly visible within the value stream to create a safe environment for collaboration and participation
- Promote a hands on, high involvement approach to problem solving
DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
- 7-9 Engineers/Technicians
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 year degree in Engineering, Technology, or Management
- 2-5 years experience in a technical leadership role (engineering, quality, etc.)
- Background in manufacturing preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality control systems (SPC, Process Capability)
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic corporate finance, budgeting, accounting
- Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
- Ability to break down technical narratives and present clearly to senior leadership
