The Source Technical Ltd are working with a family owned and run manufacturing facility based in Sheffield. The Company is well established and manufactures components in exotic materials for many Key Industries. Due to continual investment we have a vacancy for an experienced Manual Turner, the successful candidate will have extensive hands on experience with manual lathes. It is essential that applicants have a solid background in machine shop practices and well-developed skills In methods of manufacture.
The Role and Responsibilities.
Reporting to Production Manager.
Must have experience of Turning on either Vertical or Horizontal machines. Ability to set lathes with minimum supervision.
4 Day compressed working week.
Hours of work 6am - 4.30pm (Mon - Wed), 6am - 3.30pm (Thurs)
Overtime availability is good.
23 days plus 8 stats holiday entitlement - Pro rata for the 4 day basic working week.
Actively participate in our Health and Safety culture and adhering to our Health and Safety procedures at all times.
The Person.
Reliable, honest and trustworthy. Strong work ethic with can do attitude. Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
Troubleshooting of manufacturing problems associated with Manual Turning. Must have experience of both 3 Jaw and 4 Jaw chucks.
Conversant with cutting tool philosophies and techniques.
Must have knowledge of processes and tooling for machining of high temperature alloys. Experience of operating other manual machines desirable.
Demonstrate a full commitment to working closely to all relevant staff.
