Job description
The post holder will be responsible for organising and providing effective and efficient clerical and administrative support to the Manchester Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia team. The role involves the coordination and implementation of office procedures and will require a high degree of organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems including but not exclusively EMIS, INTEGRA , NHSP and HIVE. The post holder will often be the first point of contact and a focal point for the service requiring clear communication and liaison skills. They will be responsible for managing and prioritising their own workload and will be required to use their own initiative. The post holder will also provide line management for the band 3 Team Administrative Assistant.
As the largest example of an integrated health and social care workforce under one organisation, we offer a full range of NHS community roles working in both children’s and adult services. These include district and community nurses, social workers, health visitors, therapists, care staff, support staff and many other health and care professionals.
To use a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Access etc to produce correspondence and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets, and databases.
To identify best practice and develop working practices that deliver efficient and effective administrative support to the MSCT Service
To act as a first contact for communication, enquiries ensuring that patients and visitors are welcomed to the Centre.
To provide line management to a band 3 Administrative Assistant
To input confidential patient information into electronic patient records (HIVE &EMIS)
